There’s an email making the rounds right now, stating that this is a Money Bag Month. There are five Fridays and five Sundays this October, which supposedly happens only once in 823 years. According to traditional Chinese Feng Shui, if you give money bags to good people in a Money Bag month, prosperity will follow.

I’m all for prosperity cures, especially while Venus is retrograde and the green stuff may feel especially hard to come by. However, there were also five Fridays and Sundays in Oct. 2004, and will be again in Oct. 2021. Still, because this idea is now going viral in the collective consciousness (i.e. Internet), it can’t hurt to propitiate Venus, goddess of love and money, this month.

For best results, do this on a Friday (Venus’ sacred day). Get five small, preferably red, bags and fill them with five nickels or Chinese coins (five is Venus’ sacred number), then give the bags to five people you appreciate. The act of giving opens your heart, creating space for you to receive.

Growing Your Abundance

You will need: a green or flowering plant, a small piece of amethyst, a hundred dollar bill (or a twenty, if that’s the largest you can get).

Sit in your Wealth gua (far left corner from your front door) with the plant beside you. Put the piece of amethyst on top of the bill. Take a deep breath, and exhale slowly onto the crystal, as you imagine large sums of money flowing into your hands. Then say the following words:

Cash and crystal, on you I blow
My blessings and hopes, a seed to sow.

Bring money to me – let it flow
Like abundant rain, then make it grow.

Give thanks to Venus, and bury the crystal in the plant. Leave it in your Wealth gua, or put it in the yard outside that gua. Water and care for it well. Put the bill in your wallet, and carry it around for a month. When you break it, gratefully affirm your wealth.
