In the August issue of O Magazine, Trisha Coburn tells of a series of disturbing dreams in which ghostly figures tried to relay a message to her in a language she didn’t understand. Nothing was wrong in her life, she was happy and felt fine. Yet the dreams persisted, growing more urgent each time. So she had some blood tests – all clear. Then came a final dream, with two words in English: “Look deeper.”

Despite her doctor’s reluctance, Coburn scheduled a colonoscopy. A black mass appeared on the screen: an aggressive, fast-moving cancer. Immediate surgery saved Coburn’s life. If she had waited even two months longer, her prognosis would have been grim.

How perfect that Oprah’s issue spotlighting intuition would debut the week of the Capricorn Full Moon. Capricorn is about taking care of ourselves. And, it’s a sign connected to ancestral tradition. The ancestors have been whispering to us all month, ever since the July 1 solar eclipse. Now the Sun in maternal Cancer opposes the Moon in paternal Capricorn (Thursday the 14th at 11:40 p.m. PDT). The intuitive message grows more insistent.

Maybe your message already arrived, as it did for me. I was watering the plants in my back yard earlier this month, when I looked at the soon-to-be-remodeled bedroom area and had a crystal-clear thought: I must expand this cramped space. Doing so would require a great deal more expense, and time – and I could only be at my temporary location until Aug. 1. Yet perhaps my parents were whispering to me from the other side, because suddenly I felt a calm certainty. And as I was watering the front yard, my neighbor called to me from the street. It seems he’d be in Paris through most of August, and how would I feel about house-sitting?

Instant manifestation! The ancestors can see things from their perspective that we cannot see. So trust whatever gut instinct comes to you over the next few days – it is their gift to you.

Are you feeling the heat? Since June 1, we’ve been in a super-accelerated eclipse phase. If you haven’t already felt — and heeded— the call to change, get ready – because the July 1 Cancer New Moon eclipse (1:54 a.m. PDT) is the Big Mama of them all.

Cancer rules birth. And summer is a time of ripening and fruition. Because this birthing season is more powerfully potent than most, we can create something extraordinary— if we’re willing to go through the pain of labor. The July 1 eclipse forms a Grand Cross with Uranus (sudden change), Saturn (reality), and Pluto (pressure), all in cardinal action signs. This alchemical pattern unfolds between June 26 and July 2. It’s the moment when lead transforms into gold. Through intense heat and pressure, something new is born.

The Moon (feminine), strong in her own sign of Cancer, eclipses the Sun (masculine) at the dark of the moon. This puts Mama in charge. And, she’s no longer taking any abuse. Earth changes or uprisings are a possibility around this eclipse. The deep feminine is also rising up within us. Our feelings and intuition demand that we bury the old and birth the new.

This eclipse initiates a new chapter for you. The house it activates is where you’re likely to experience change. There’s also good fortune coming your way, as lucky Jupiter makes a supportive sextile to the eclipse. Be sure to read your Ascendant sign as well:

Aries: A family connection or change at home brings financial opportunity and blessings.

Taurus: Sudden news or a breakthrough in your attitude lets you step out and be seen.

Gemini: Letting go and trusting Spirit to guide you boosts your wealth and self-esteem.

Cancer: Supportive friends and associates help you create a brand new look or location.

Leo: A sudden change or strong feeling leads you to lucrative new career opportunities.

Virgo: An abrupt shift with a friend or goal sets you off on an incredible adventure.

Libra: A financial investment or shift you make leads to big changes with your career.

Scorpio: A mate’s good fortune leads to significant changes in your long-term direction.

Sagittarius: Positive work developments coincide with your efforts to release the past.

Capricorn: Devoting yourself to creativity helps you cope with changes in a partnership.

Aquarius: Family support helps you make the best of a shake-up with work or health.

Pisces: Positive news or a sibling’s aid leads to a romantic or creative breakthrough.

Change can be hard. By prodding us out of our comfort zones, eclipses help us enact the growth-producing moves we might not otherwise be willing to make. Call on your ancestors for help in making the shift this eclipse requires. Be sure to enhance the Family gua of your home by performing my Astro Feng Shui ritual. By feeding your ancestors, you’ll gain otherworldly help with navigating your course.
