Weaving a web of connection…

“It is never too late to be what you might have been.”  –George Eliot

Many years ago, I turned down a job that would have given me an exotic, international life.  I’ve often wondered what things would have been like if I had gone down that path. What fabulous country would I be living in? What wonderful creative friends might I have made? Would I have found that perfect-for-me mate who has eluded me up till now? And is it too late to make those things happen?

Mary Ann Evans (better known as George Eliot) believed that it’s never too late to go after your dreams.  Hailed as one of the best novelists of the Victorian age, the author of Middlemarch also applied her keen intelligence to editing a radical journal during a time when women were expected to keep their opinions to themselves. Told she’d never marry because she was too plain, she nevertheless forged two loving, if unconventional, unions. A determined Scorpio, Evans followed her heart and broadened her world.

How about you? Are you following your heart? If not, the upcoming Aquarius Full Moon (August 15, 5:29 a.m. PDT) can bring you the clarity, support and inspiration to do so. This Full Moon, falling only four days after Jupiter turns direct on August 11, brings the bigger picture into focus and provides the energy and enthusiasm to believe we can make our dreams come true. Yet change agent Uranus (the modern ruler of Aquarius) turns retrograde on the same day that Jupiter goes forward. This means we must free ourselves from internal prisons (lack of self-confidence, unwillingness to ask for support, being stuck in the past) so we’re able to make those big changes once Uranus turns direct in early January.

I heard one astrologer refer to this Full Moon as a time of “divine discontent,” and I wouldn’t disagree. On one hand, as the Moon in clever Aquarius opposes a close conjunction of the Sun and Venus in loving Leo, we’re able to join our minds and hearts and weave a web of protection and positive change for ourselves and the wider world. On the other hand, we’re challenged to release internal blockages and trust as things unfold.

So at this Full Moon, ask yourself: What dream have I been holding in my heart?  Then brainstorm about ways to make it happen. Experiment with potentials and play with possibilities. By August 17 Mars shifts into nuts-and-bolts Virgo, quickly followed by the Sun and Venus. That’s the time to make a detailed plan, especially at the auspicious August 30 New Moon.

As for me, I’m playing with the possibility of pursuing my long-delayed dream of an exotic, international life, which could involve living overseas. I’ll begin next spring by revisiting the south of France, a place I fell in love with 36 years ago. My Cancer planets are quaking at the idea of leaving my cozy home and familiar turf. But I’m not getting any younger – and neither are you! Truly, it’s never too late for us to become what we might have been.

Go for it! Better to forge ahead and see what’s around the bend, then staying “safe” and wondering “what if…” stars ⭐️ ✨

    Dearest Simone,

I have long intended to tell you how much I admire and love your work. I eagerly read your Full Moon report each month and take to heart, soul, and spirit your thoughts and guidance.

If and when you feel comfortable, I’d love to hear more about the South of France as I myself have been hearing whispers from theat region having recently learned of my 50% French heritage that hails from Ile d’Yeu. I have only recently begun to explore how I could carry my dissertation studies to that region for inclusion into my work; thus far, I have not found opportunities, yet I trust all will unfold as it is intended.

Thank you for your fabulous Goddess being and the gifts you bring to this world

Thank you so much, Lorinda! I’m not familiar with Ile d’Yeu but if your ancestry hails from there, you’ve got to go! Just keep affirming it and you will find a way. You might google Mary Magdalene in the south of France for more on that; she landed at St. Marie de la Mer after leaving the Holy Land after Jesus’ death, and there are many sacred sites dedicated to her throughout the region. Happy Full Moon!

Thank you for taking the time to respond, Simone. I will indeed keep affirming my desire to go and intuit ways for the opportunity to present itself. I will also further explore Mary Magdalene; I do love exploration in all its wonder and glory. Merci!

Eat Pray Love indeed! I have some obligations here thru November, and I don’t think Dec.-Feb. would be great weather-wise for tramping thru the countryside over there. But you never know!

Southern France is definitely a goddess area and such a beautiful region. And wasn’t George Eliot such a courageous woman, willing to go her own way despite the odds. Wishing you a creative, stimulating future, no matter where it takes you Simone.

I SO loved this essay, Simone! It came at just the right moment! I have recently come to an absolute realization after many, many years that it is time to leave the past safety and comfort (even while it has been very painful) of my family of origin and forge into an unknown future to create a family of choice. A family of choice that fully embraces the woman that I have become after 48 years! I’m at a bittersweet juncture, but there is excitement and exhilaration of a Uranian/Aquarian future! I am READY!!

    Hi Simone,

I returned to Turkey this May after an eight year hiatus. I travelled alone, unsure but determined. I spent 3 weeks in Balat (non touristy NW superb of Istanbul) plus Bursa (former Ottoman capital) So proud that all the Turkish I’d heard before was tucked away waiting. While waiting for the bus that would take me to the port Mudanya, a Turkish guy asked me a question. I responded automatically “anlamiyorum” (I don”t understand )

    Bon voyage et bonne sejour!

Thanks for the good wishes, Tanya! I’m hoping that my French comes back to me (high school, college classes) the way your Turkish came back to you! I think I will do some studying before I go, just in case. Many blessings, Simone

Simone, thank you for ‘fabulously verbalizing’ what so many of us are feeling; time to move one, grab the torch, leap off the cliff, a mother may I -tiny step. It matters not the means, only the will to begin. Thank you for bringing greater heart-muscle to that will.

Heart-muscle, eh? That must be my Mars-Jupiter in Leo getting set off by all the Leo fire planets! lol. So glad I was able to articulate what you’ve been feeling. It is certainly time to throw off the shackles of the past, no matter how scary that may be. A thrilling new life awaits us! Many blessings to you…

This was so spot on. Really feeling the need for change and pushing forward on my dream to have my own work from home biz. Then I can have flexibility in my day, week, whatever, to go on those adventures I dream about. Working on my self-confidence and feeling like it’s going to happen, sooner than I think! I hope it all works out for you on your adventures.

Thank you so much for your sympathy, Bridgie! I’m sure I will find a tranquil place again, it just means a bit of disruption (and exciting adventures!) in the meantime. Never easy for a Cancer to leave her cozy nest, though. So glad my posts have inspired you, and best of luck on your project launch! May we all be lifted up and supported in our new endeavors…
