FEBRUARY
THEME: SPREAD YOUR WINGS

News
flash: in February, Pluto arrives at the Galactic Center! This pulsating
central point of our Milky Way galaxy is a huge Black Hole and contains
the mass of four million suns. This is the source of most of our
gravitational energy. For the first time in 200 years, potent Pluto
transits the GC point-26 degrees of Sagittarius-for two years.
Sagittarian themes are now intensified: spiritual awakening, truth-seeking,
religious fervor (for better or worse). People with planets and
points around 26 Sag should feel an extra lightning bolt influx
of passion and purpose, and gain greater access to Pluto's treasures-power,
sex, money and depth of soul. As the stars would have it, my own
North Node, point of destiny, is at 26 Sag. Look out! The center
of our galaxy is broadcasting info and inspiration for me to download
and share with the world.
Astrologer Philip Sedgwick believes that Pluto at the GC has to
do with recognizing and honoring your truth. The most important
thing now, he says, is to choose your battles wisely. "Consider
if waging war would negatively impact your spirit," he advised in
a recent Star Blog (www.philipsedgwick.com). "Consider if refusing
to defend your honor-honor here implying your spirit, emotional
well being and consciousness-injures your ability to consciously
function."
Some battles are worth fighting now, but many are not. We're witnessing
the death throes of a dying culture, and must preserve our energies
to create a new one. Doubtlessly there will be more strife on the
world stage this year. The warrior planet Mars rising in the chart
of the recent Winter Solstice set a certain antagonistic tone for
2006, and we've just entered the Year of the Fire Dog, which the
Chinese consider a war-like energy. Yet a powerful, stationary Venus
conjuncts Chiron in Aquarius (the Sacred Feminine) in the Winter
Solstice chart as well. Peace, pleasure and healing also beckon.
Which path will you choose?
This is an "8" year numerologically, with the power to bring dreams
into concrete manifestation. Pick the world you want to inhabit,
and make it real. We're now in the month of Aquarius and Pisces,
visionary energies concerned with the larger issues in life. We're
compelled to shake loose of hindrances, spread our wings and fly
in the direction of our dreams. If you're not sure which dream to
pursue, watch for sudden inspirations-and go with what thrills you.
Early February is a special time. Midway between Winter and Spring,
a quickening of the life force occurs. At the ancient Isis festival
on Feb. 2 (later called Imbolc, or Candlemas), priests and priestesses
would rededicate themselves to serving the Goddess. In synchronicity,
Venus ends her retrograde cycle February 3, and creative projects
and love interests move forward at last. It's time to get the creative
juices flowing! Lay the groundwork for your plans now-and trust
in the outcome, as things unfold slowly over the course of the year.
Saturn in Leo (grounding) and Jupiter in Scorpio (passion) form
a fixed Grand Cross with the Sun (purpose) Mercury (mind), Chiron
(healing) and Neptune (vision) in Aquarius, bringing a certain gravitas
to an otherwise dreamy month. And, we'll be blessed with a delicious,
if surprising, Valentine's Day as lovely Venus in Capricorn aligns
with lucky Jupiter in Scorpio and the practical Moon in Virgo. The
Sun links up with Pluto at the passionate Galactic Core, and Mercury
joins electric Uranus in Pisces for a jolt of awakening that's spiritual
as well as physical. Stay tuned!
