THEME: A COMMON PURPOSE
by Simone Butler
INAUGURAL
BUTTON: " Rosa sat so that Martin could walk / Martin walked
so that Obama could run / Obama ran so that our children can fly."
Earlier this
week, thousands poured into our nation's frosty capital for the
Inauguration of President Barack Obama. At our little gathering
in sunny San Diego, hearts were full and eyes teary; we're all so
ready for this change. I was concerned about our new president taking
office under a void Moon ("nothing will come of it") and retrograde
Mercury (better for finishing old tasks than initiating new ones).
But in a classic retrograde re-do, Obama took his flubbed oath again
the night after the Inauguration--with no void Moon in sight! Though
he probably had no inkling of the astrological significance, it's
still a great example of his resolve to make the very best of his
presidency.
This mid-winter
jolt of excitement and hope reflects the Sun's recent shift from
earthy, traditional Capricorn to airy, techno-savvy Aquarius. The
January 25 turbo-charged New Moon solar eclipse (conjunct jubilant
Jupiter in Aquarius) adds firepower to this 21st Century presidency.
Via his You Tube channel and daily Face Page, our new leader can
connect directly with us. It's a whole new way of doing politics
that bypasses the mainstream media and powers-that-be.
At a solar eclipse, the feminine, connective power
of the Moon trumps the masculine, assertive power of the Sun. Millions
are embracing the timely message, "We're in this together." Aquarius
favors connecting with a higher purpose that benefits the collective.
Obama, a Leo with Aquarius rising, expressed this idea brilliantly
by establishing January 20th as a national day of renewal and reconciliation,
declaring, "I call upon all of our citizens to serve one another
and the common purpose of remaking this Nation."
With fresh,
new energy flooding the White House, a literal or symbolic cleansing
of your home may also be in order. As Dana Gerhardt so beautifully
expressed at a prior New Moon
in Aquarius, now is the time to disperse old, stagnant energies
by ringing bells, burning sage, spraying a fine scented mist in
the air, or clapping your hands to call in the new.
Since we're
being called to help and serve each other as never before, it's
appropriate to give special attention at the Jan. 25 New Moon (11:55
p.m. Pacific time) to the Helpful People sector of your home. According
to Western Feng Shui, this "gua" is the near right corner of your
house as you stand at your front door facing in. Call forth aid
from those in this world or the next by writing down requests for
specific help you would like to receive, or ask to be shown how
best to give. Then, place the written affirmations in a silver box
in your Helpful People gua. While you're at it, why not write down
our new president's name and affirm that the angels are guiding
and protecting him? Now we're actually becoming helpful people,
to support Obama in manifesting the new Aquarian paradigm.
Adding potent
New Moon energy to Feng Shui can bring about results that seem like
magic. And, your horoscope tells which area of your home and life
will benefit the most from your New Moon/Feng Shui rituals. One
client won $5000 and another healed a chronic illness after combining
these two ancient sources of wisdom. To learn more, contact me for
