In Norristown, PA, Bill Cosby is found guilty of drugging and sexually assaulting a woman – after decades of getting away with it. In Sacramento, the ‘Golden State Killer’ is finally taken into custody for committing dozens of rapes and murders in the 1970s. In San Diego, a beloved fifth grade teacher is arrested for collecting and distributing explicit videos of adults having sex with children.

This profound unmasking of dark secrets comes to us courtesy of an unusually Scorpionic set of circumstances. Scorpio and its ruling planet, Pluto, both of which are connected to sex, death and the unveiling of mysteries, are the stars of the show this week. Mars conjunct Pluto on Thursday and a Scorpio Full Moon on Sunday are shining a spotlight on that which has been hidden from view so that it can be reformed.

Truth-telling Jupiter is also playing an important role. We all have masks we hide behind – but when Jupiter is in Scorpio, authenticity is required. The giant planet slid into steamy Scorpio last October, where it began exposing sexual abuse via Harvey Weinstein’s fall from grace and the resulting #metoo movement.  Weinstein was misusing his powerful Mars (masculinity, sexuality) in Scorpio; when Jupiter, Mars and the Sun all triggered it last year, the bully was toppled. As Jupiter slogs through Scorpio until November, it will continue to overturn rocks so we can see the squiggly things underneath – and hopefully make a clean sweep.

First let’s unpack the powerful Mars-Pluto conjunction in Capricorn. Mars is the knife; Pluto is the festering wound that’s begging to be lanced. And Capricorn is the outer mask being sliced by the knife to reveal what’s really underneath.  Throw a Scorpio Full Moon on top of that (Sunday, April 29 at 5:58 p.m. PDT), and all hell is apt to break loose.  This is the only Full Moon near Jupiter in Scorpio during its year-long journey through that sign. Hence wrong-doers are being brought to justice or otherwise exposed.  Yet it’s also the annual Wesak Full Moon, when the Buddha returns to Earth to bestow blessings upon us. This intense, enlightening energy is bound to shake things up and reveal what’s hidden – to help us transform whatever pain and shame we’ve been hiding inside. The Sun in Taurus and Moon in Scorpio are anchored by stabilizing Saturn in Capricorn, so whatever comes to light should have lasting impact.

It’s high time that there be a reckoning on the long-standing disrespect of women and children, as well as our Earth and her creatures. Ask yourself: In what way have I been disrespecting myself or others? What mask have I been hiding behind? As you contemplate these questions, sit with the discomfort and feel your feelings. You may need to pull the bandage off an old wound and expose it to the light. People are extra touchy and might lash out, so guard your energy.  Wherever Scorpio is in your chart, honor that part of you (it usually involves your sexuality and power) and let this magical Full Moon bring healing.

And don’t forget to sign up for Your Weekly Power Guide: Simone Sez which comes out on Sunday. This in-depth look at the week ahead will get you in sync with the energies. (Hint: Way less intense than this week has been, the first week of May features my favorite pagan holiday!)

Wow that is wonderful, Careyana! You are really in sync with the energies. 🙂 So many astrologers are blogging right now about this Full Moon in particular, if you want to know more just google it and you’ll get a wealth of other opinions on the subject though we’re all basically saying the same thing. If you ever want a read on the transits to your personal chart, though, just visit me at http://www.astroalchemy.com/consultations. Cheers!

You are so welcome, Elizabeth! Cleaning and clearing is certainly a great way to channel this Scorpionic energy, especially when one has five planets in that sign! Many blessings to you and your daughter…
