male female superheroes

Over a two-year span from 1967 to 1968, I went from a chubby, awkward child to a slender, sexy guy-magnet (not that I knew how to handle my new superpower!) In the world at large, the hippie movement burst onto the scene with the Summer of Love, and the Civil Rights Act was finally signed – but not before its most persuasive advocate, Martin Luther King Jr., was shot dead. Inspired by the new gestalt of living freely and sharing communally, ordinary people tuned in and turned on, or at least began to question their way of life. The gay rights movement exploded, and people spoke out on behalf of Mother Earth. Empowerment was the order of the day.

The period from March 1967 to Oct. 1968  was the last time we experienced four Blood Moons (total lunar eclipses) in a row. These eclipses took place in Libra, sign of peace and love, and Aries, sign of fiery independence. Now history is repeating itself, with four Blood Moons in Aries-Libra once again. The first was in April 2014, and the last is happening this weekend (Sunday Sept. 27, 12:29 p.m. PDT). Think about what was happening in your life in the spring of 2014; chances are it’s now coming to a close.

What superpower have you developed over the last two years? It may have been born from loss and confusion, but I guarantee something strong and empowered has emerged in you – and Sunday’s Super Moon (super close to the earth) is bringing it forth. The eclipse will visible across the eastern half of the U.S., South America and western portions of Europe and Africa, but you’re still bound to feel it even if you can’t see it.

The Sun in Libra joins the asteroid Juno (true partnership) as it eclipses the Moon in Aries, joined by Vesta (Goddess of the Sacred Flame). This is an evolutionary portal for all of us, whether partnered or not. Vesta’s sacred flame purifies and transmutes lower vibrations of ego and fear, so use this intense window of time in which sensitivities are heightened to release whatever no longer serves you and open to the new. Take extra good care of yourself, don’t push too hard, and by all means don’t pay heed to any fear-based interpretations of this eclipse!

Since Mercury is retrograde through Oct. 9, you may not feel quite ready to unveil your new superpower to the world yet; it’s smart to keep refining it or trying it on to see how it fits, then make your debut in mid-Oct. I’m seeing encouraging signs of empowerment in my clients – some who are finally ready to bring long-overdue closure to their dead-in-the-water marriage, or take a risk on new love.  Others are about to step out and share their unique talents with the world on a whole new level.

Perhaps you’ll discover that your new superpower is the ability to – at long last – have a mutually fulfilling relationship while retaining a strong sense of self. Maybe you can be badass – and still be loved. And, you can both be superheroes! Now there’s a great idea for Halloween costumes…

This hits home with me Simone as my husband of 33 years passed in April of 2014, so I have been finding my way alone. Hopefully going through this cycle will put me on the right path. Will give a lot of thought to this on Sunday. Seems fitting that my husband was a Libra.

Yes it does seem fitting, Susan. My partner and I broke up in April 2014 when he moved back to Houston, and it’s taken me this long to get over it. Feeling a definite shift with this SuperMoon, though! Wishing the same for you…

So relevant and much anticipated. I survived a near fatal brain hemorrhage in April 2014. I have undergone a miraculous return to life with amazing changes in my awareness. My day to day has been transformed by constant rehab and reinventing life for myself… I’ve experienced a continual emergence since this event… It has been the most demanding time of my life for sure but has brought astounding positive growth to my life nonetheless.

Maybe I’m being a bit dense, but what do you mean by “four blood moons in a row”? Specifically, the “in a row” part? I mean, it’s a period of a year and a half. There were plenty of full moons during that period, so the eclipses weren’t “in a row” in the conventional sense. Or do you mean that, during that period, there were four full moons with the sun in Aries and moon in Libra (or vice versa), and all four were eclipses?
